Bangkok trip – 25 Dec 10

We woke up at around 8am and had breakfast in the hotel since breakfast is included.
View from the 4th floor

I find that the breakfast variety is alright but the food variety is repeated everyday that I get sian. Imagine 7 days eating the same food!

From the hotel, we have to walk for about 10min to the nearest BTS station - Sala Daeng. Today, we are going to Chatuchak market and the journey from Sala Daeng to Mo Chit is about 30min.

I knew that Chatuchak is the largest weekend market in Thailand but I cant imagine that it's so huge!!! The market cover an area of 35 acres and has over 8,000 vendors selling anything and everything under the sun.
OMG! That's only a portion of Chatuchak market

From Mo Chit BTS station, it's 10min to Chatuchak market. Chatuchak market is also adjacent to Kamphaengphet MRT station.

We had our lunch at Chatuchak Sunday market, around Section 15 which is near the toilet. We decided to have stew pork leg rice as it was recommended in the forum. It cost  THB 40 ~S$1.70.

We saw people distributing free drinks and we took it since the weather is unbearable hot.

We bought a chicken doner kebap THB50 ~ S$2.10 but it's not really fantastic.

We were looking for the coconut ice cream stall and couldnt find it until we saw someone eating it on the way. We guessed the ice cream stall should be where we are walking towards to since the person who is eating ice cream is walking towards our direction. The coconut ice cream stall is actually near Kamphaengphet MRT station.

The coconut ice cream is not cheap THB25 ~ S$1.10 for a scoop but the business is just so good.

After having the coconut ice cream, we decided to continue our shopping expedition tomorrow. We took the BTS back to Sala Daeng BTS station.
I wonder what did this guy bought?

We decided to pamper ourselves by going for massage. I did research on couple of good thai massage salon and we went to Ruen Nuad Massage Studio which is near our hotel. (Address: 42 Thanon Convent off Thanon Silom, Direction: BTS Sala Daeng Exit 2, walk straight turn left into Soi Convent, walk straight until BNH Hospital which is located almost across, Opening hours: 10am – 10pm).

We choose 2hr thai massage which cost THB550 ~ S$24. The massage is excellent. YQ even commented it's the best thai massage that he had in Thailand so far. I like Thai massage as I dislike those massage which needs to apply the aromatherapy oil.

After the massage, we felt very refreshed and our foot steps seems to be lighter. We bought a banana pancake as YQ never tried before. The banana pancake is similar to our roti prata but it's definitely cheaper!!!

We passed by McDonalds on the way back to the hotel and I insist taking a photo with Ronald McDonald.

I bought a pork burger as this can't be found in Singapore. The taste is similar to the chicken patty in Big Breakfast meal.

Ater taking an hour rest in the hotel, we went our for our dinner at MBK.

I doubt you can find a not crowded Charles & Keith shop in Singapore

There are many restaurants at the top floor of MBK and we decided to eat at Fuj restaurant. The food is mediocre. Maybe my standard increase after I went to Japan.

It's quite disappointing that we didnt bought anything at MBK as the shops are either too expensive or the things sold here are not to our likings.

We walked to National Stadium BTS station to take BTS back to the hotel and saw these vendors displaying their goods on the pathway outside the BTS station.
